We enable intergenerational and intercultural dialogue and community building locally, nationally and internationally with peer support and advice aimed at igniting working relationships across sectors. 

 

After six years of growth and development Creative Edinburgh is seeking a permanent Director.  The role has been temporarily filled in an interim capacity since April 2017 but following a successful Creative Scotland RFO application we are in a position to make the role permanent.

The Role

We require an energetic, articulate, well-connected creative practitioner with good experience of event and programme creation and curation to develop and build our extensive membership programme that includes events, training and mentoring.

 

The successful candidate will have a natural aptitude for engaging with, managing and growing a diverse membership with creative and marketing flair.

 

An important aspect of the role is to build and maintain strong relationships within the City Authority, Government and key strategic players and partners in the creative and technology sectors, through a planned programme of advocacy.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement, (and later develop) with the Board, our strategic plan

  • Drive the continued growth of the organisation

  • Act as an advocate for both Creative Edinburgh and the Creative Industries in Edinburgh as a whole; locally, nationally and internationally

  • Engage with and nurture members’ needs and ideas

  • Work well with a dynamic Board and Steering Group, demonstrating good governance skills

  • Enthusiastically manage a small team of specialist staff

  • Identify, build and maintain strategic and funding partnerships/ relationships/ collaborations (both cultural and commercial)

  • Develop new income streams

  • Help recruit Operational Support Director to work in close collaboration with the Director.

 

Operational challenges, such as managing funding reports, membership records, finances and administration, will be the responsibility of a new Operational Support Director.

Location: The job will be based at Codebase, Studio 107, 38 Castle Terrace, Edinburgh EH3 9DZ

Hours of work: Office hours are 9:00am to 5:00pm but the post holder will be expected to work as the job requires, including evenings and weekends.


Holidays: 25 days plus public holidays per annum

Salary:  Salary is commensurate with experience
