Job: Collective Gallery - Voluntary Projects Assistant

Collective is looking for one enthusiastic, positive, friendly and energetic volunteer to get involved with the gallery team as a Voluntary Projects Assistant. The Voluntary Projects Assistant is a comprehensive training placement at Collective designed to provide an introduction to basic administrative, exhibition and project management skills. The post is suitable for someone with an interest in contemporary art and for those looking to begin a career in the visual arts sector. It has been designed to enable recent graduates to explore decisions about their future, for instance in deciding whether they would like to pursue their own artistic practice or how to develop their current skills. The team will provide you with lots of support and a chance to develop your skills and confidence. The post is voluntary and the successful applicant will join the team three days per week, including weekends over a six-month period.

Would you like to take part in the Get DigitAll programme? Digital Skills Academy are delivering a new IT training course for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds aged 16-25 keen to take their first steps towards a career in IT. These young people may have missed out on opportunities in the past are being given the chance to get their start in the world of IT. Organised in partnership with Edinburgh College and City of Edinburgh Council, the course will give young people key skills in two areas: · Basic computer subjects including hardware, software, security, troubleshooting, upgrading and networking and will equip them for CompTIA A+ certification · Employability skills by offering the SQA Employability Award Course content includes a broad range of essential IT subjects. It will give the young people foundation skills and they will be able to diagnose problems, repair, configure and install hardware and operating systems. It also includes employability support so they will be prepared for employment, understand the world of work, how to deal with work situations and the responsibilities of employment. The course will also include customer service skills. This gives young people an ideal preparation to start their careers in IT.
