Job: Production Assistant

If you’re looking to get your foot in the door of the film and video industry then this could be for you. We’re looking for an enthusiastic new member of staff to work out of our busy Edinburgh production office on a permanent basis. From our busy Edinburgh studio, we work on a huge variety of projects across video, film and animation. Working closely with our team of producers, you’ll be fully involved in helping a project go from concept to delivery, assisting all departments in making things happen. As we all do at Heehaw, the nature of the work means you'll be wearing a few hats, but to give you an idea of what you'll be up to your duties would include: Research Booking kit Talent & crew liaison Concept development Production coordination Schedule assistance Helping out on shoots Marketing and PR stuff Any other stuff the job might throw at us! The position is full time and would suit a recent graduate in video, film or animation. If you're passionate, dedicated and motivated, then we want to hear from you. Job: Motion Designer

Heehaw are looking for a talented and creative motion designer to work within our busy post-production team at our office in Edinburgh on a permanent contract. Our studio works across video, film and animation for a wide variety of local and global clients, as well as original content. As our expansion continues, we’re looking to invest in our post-production department and build on the motion graphics and animation side of our work, and that’s where you’ll come in. We work on a wide variety of concepts, with a hugely varied workflow. To give you an idea of what you’ll be tasked with, you will be responsible for: • Helping to formulate and present creative treatments and concepts • Developing style-frames, mock-ups and storyboards • Working closely with the post-production team on the delivery of animation and motion graphics content for multiple projects at once • Accurately quoting hours and working to a specific brief • Working collaboratively as part of a wider production team, including producers, directors, camera crew and editors The ideal candidate will come from a background in animation, motion design or similar, either freelance or within an agency environment. You will be hugely proactive and passionate about what you do, keen to develop your skills and suggest new ways of doing things. Some of the skills and experience necessary for the role include: • Experience with Adobe CC software, particularly After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop and Premiere • Experience of Cinema 4D would be highly advantageous • A natural eye for contemporary design, typography, movement and layout • Great organisational skills in regard to file management and methodical workflows • Excellent communication with a positive and enthusiastic attitude • Ability to work on multiple projects at one time • Strong attention to detail • Flexibility, versatility and the ability to thrive under pressure • Creativity when dealing with problems • Open, honest, direct and comfortable in giving and receiving constructive feedback • Strong attention to detail In return, we can offer you a supportive working environment, rewarding projects, and the chance to grow as part of a close-knit team of like-minded creatives. Job: Student Engagement Coordinator

Edinburgh International Film Festival are looking for an excellent communicator with an enthusiasm for youth development and the film industry. Based in the Learning Team, the Student Engagement Coordinator supports the year-round team in all aspects of preparing for, promoting and delivering EIFF’s Education and Learning Programme. The post holder will coordinate the Student Critics Competition but also liaise with academic institutions and students to communicate the student offer at EIFF. This role will require some experience in event management. The role will appeal to someone who takes pride in their organisational, presentation and communication skills, who is creative but can also think practically, who has an interest in youth development and the film industry. It is essential that you enjoy being part of a tight knit team and enjoy supporting a manager. Job: Guest Services Assistant [ Paid Internship ]

The Guest Services Internship may be of particular interest if you are considering a career in festival management, talent management, hospitality or film PR. Monday 23rd April to Friday 6th July 2 roles: Full-time, fixed term, paid internships. Under the instruction of the Guest Services Manager, you will be primarily assisting the Guest Services Coordinators who arrange travel, accommodation, hospitality and itineraries for filmmaker, industry and press guests. In 2017 the team managed arrangements for over 800 industry, filmmaker and press guests. You will help deal with enquiries from filmmakers and programmers, research contact details and travel routes and help ensure our records are kept up to date. You will gain experience of a fast paced environment and a team working to tight deadlines with strict budgets whilst providing excellent customer service to our visiting guests. With support from the team, you will build confidence in communicating effectively and professionally by email and phone. During the Festival you will also be required to help manage guest attendance at screenings, events and functions and assist with hospitality arrangements, often liaising directly with guests, with the opportunity to put any language skills to use.

Job: Press and Marketing Assistant [ Paid Internship ]

The Press & Marketing Internship will be best suited to candidates pursuing a career in marketing and communications, particularly in a film related or arts environment. Monday 7th May to Friday 6th July 2018 Full-time, fixed term, paid internship. EIFF Interns are paid the National Living Wage (25+) Initially the position will concentrate on Film Festival related campaigns; helping the Marketing team to develop, deliver and analyse creative marketing campaigns. Immediately before and during the Festival, the position will support DDA to manage and update the press database and work on the ground at EIFF press events. You will research film-related marketing opportunities, update databases, collate Box Office information, help with venue dressing, respond to customer enquiries and, with support, gain experience in image resizing, basic design and of managing competitions and promotions. You will assist in managing and updating the press database, generating and disseminating press releases and Festival communications, overseeing press cuttings, managing press materials and also work on the ground at EIFF's press events, red carpets and photo-calls throughout the duration of the Festival. You will also be required to liaise daily with UK and International press keeping them updated of the latest Festival activity.
