Job: Technical Education Officer (Cyber)

We're looking for someone with cyber skills and knowledge for a three month contract. [ Work hours: 35 hours per week - 3 month fixed term contract ] Work location: Edinburgh International Science Festival Offices, Edinburgh with some overseas work (UAE) About the role: The Technical Education Officer (Cyber) will support the organisation in the creation and delivery of our vibrant program of digital content projects. The post-holder will support projects by providing technical support during content development on topic areas such as cyber security, infosec, networking, and coding. Further, the post-holder will contribute to project delivery plans by taking on a practical role in specifying technical requirements for live events and overseeing their installation and operation on-site. About you: You will likely be degree qualified in networking, cyber security or another information technology or related discipline. You will be skilled in the Linux command line, and have experience and good understanding on networks and cyber security. You will have an educational aptitude, possessing excellent communication and problem solving skills. You will have a good understanding of a high-profile technology such as Blockchain or Artificial Intelligence. Job: Full-stack PHP Developer

We're now on the lookout for an ambitious full-stack developer who is passionate about digital innovation. A meticulous eye-for detail, a love of processes, a loathing for bad code and a sense of humour are all must-haves. You’ll be making a significant contribution to a diverse range of exciting and complex projects from day one. Working as a key part of a friendly, open-minded team, you’ll be closely supported by our amazing technical director. As a minimum you’ll be expected to have: A degree in Web Technologies or a related field (or a comparable level of work experience). Strong PHP development skills. Strong HTML5, CSS3, javascript/jQuery and responsive design skills. Experience with configuring and customising Drupal and WordPress. Experience using MySQL databases. Experience with using Git. You’ll have also previously: Worked in a team. Worked on complex web applications. Worked according to UX best practice. Gained experience in a similar commercial role. Installed and managed sites on a Linux-based server. The role will be full-time and based in our awesome Edinburgh office, slap bang in the middle of Leith’s vibrant creative scene. The contract offered will be permanent with rapid career advancement options available.
