Part-time volunteer posts from September 2018 to June 2019 (Edinburgh) Love Music Junior Choir currently has a membership of around 100 children aged 8-12 who come from all over the city. Opp: Space available in shared pottery studio

Calling all pottery lovers! Are you looking for a cheap, flexible studio space in Edinburgh with all of the pottery equipment you could ever need? Please get in touch on here if so! Recently an opportunity has opened up for a potter to join the Bridge Pottery Collective. We are a collective of 16 people who enjoy working with clay, and have some education and experience in pottery/ceramics. We want to practise making, and pursue individual and collaborative projects and research. We welcome different skills and levels - as long as you have enough experience to work safely independently. We share equipment and facilities (Including kilns). The majority of the equipment is owned by Alison – a potter of many years experience – who has a great deal of her own equipment as well as that of the late lustre ceramicist Margery Clinton. The group has also been gifted various pieces of equipment and materials. We have created a supportive and creative environment for all of our members – who all have some experience of working with clay before they join us – and a place to grow as artists, and discover new ways to work with clay. Our studio is in St Margaret’s House on London Road. The rent of £60 per month, and the studio is accessible from 8am to 10pm every day. There is also a £60 sign up fee. All members partake in the cleaning required to ensure that the studio is a safe and clean place to create. We also ask that you make time to join the monthly meeting to discuss matters relating to keeping the studio running. We only have one opening at the moment but do get in touch if you would like to be placed on the waiting list as spots open up fairly frequently. Please see our website or our Instagram feed for more information www.instragram.com/bridgepotterycollective The space is available at short notice and someone will be selected on basis of their general availability (day-time potters are preferred) and their background. Please drop Elisa (bridgepotterycollective@gmail.com) an email with your experience, approximate times of when you think you would be using the studio, and when you would like to start (or if you would just want to be put on the waiting list) For further information, please contact bridgepotterycollective@gmail.com (bridgepotterycollective@gmail.com), or follow the link below >>>

Opp: Taking Hold - The double Bridge [ Open call - Residency ]

Taking Hold – The Double Bridge will explore and question the ways that solidarity, competition and antagonism find physical expression in social relationships. It will use performance for camera to test the spoken and unspoken rules of public bodily contact: for instance, in greetings, contact sports or on the dance floor. The process will be underpinned by Phoebe Davies’ personal research into power dynamics, plus her collaborative enquiry into the concept of ‘pack mentalities’ and intersectional perspectives with performer and choreographer Nandi Bhebhe, as Bhebhe&Davies. During the residency, Davies plans to work on a series of filmed and photographed performances. She invites interested members of the residency group to get involved in whatever aspects of the work connect to their own practices: for example, in performance to camera, staging, filming, related critical discussion, or all of these.

Opp: Fringe Exhibition Invigilators/Volunteers

Gallery 23 is currently searching for experienced and enthusiastic assistance during the festival season ,who would like to volunteer at a working art gallery. The gallery is affiliated with the English-Speaking Union Scotland, a worldwide educational charity. The gallery is located in a great location in the West End of Edinburgh, a five minute walk from Princes Street and Haymarket Station. Gallery 23 is pleased to present our Fringe Festival exhibition along with a series of accompanying events intended to highlight some of the world’s most pressing environmental problems: the inability of humankind to effectively cope with the disposal of the vast amounts of household and industrial waste and the destruction of the natural world for profit and pleasure. In particular, the exhibition will explore how contemporary artists in Scotland are engaging with environmental issues today and the manner in which these ideas can be implemented into agents of change. We are looking for invigilators to supervise the gallery during open exhibition hours. For interested parties, there is also potential for this to segway into an internship. Interested students should contact me at the address below if they wish to be considered.  As it would be a voluntary position, time and hours would be flexible. Thank you very much for your consideration. Please don’t hesitate to contact me should you have any more questions or comments. Dr. Julie V.
