The Creative Edinburgh Awards are back for 2024, and once again, we calling on everyone to join us in recognising the incredible creative talent that defines our city. Whether you want to nominate a colleague, a friend, or even yourself, now is the time to shine a spotlight on the creative achievements that make Edinburgh a cultural hub.

This page contains everything you need to know about how to submit a nomination for this year's Awards including the awards categories and eligibility criteria, FAQs and how to apply.

The 2024 Awards Categories

There are ten distinct Awards Categories for nominations, including two brand new Awards for 2024! Each Awards Category holds its own eligibility criteria so it's important to read through all the categories carefully and ensure that your person/project/place ticks the boxes for your chosen category.

How to Apply:

The Creative Edinburgh Awards are free to enter and open to anyone living or working in the Edinburgh city region. To nominate yourself or someone else, you simply need to fill in the Awards application entry form (linked below)!

Applications for the Creative Edinburgh Awards 2024 can ONLY be submitted via the Typeform link found below. To ensure a smooth application process, we recommend downloading the application form template here and preparing your responses separately.

Please note: Applications can be submitted in different formats - written and video. Video submissions can be made in English or British Sign Language.

Are the Creative Edinburgh Awards free to enter?

Yes! The Awards are free to enter. You simply need to be a member of Creative Edinburgh, our Free Membership package is open to all and sign-up is quick and easy. If you’re not already a member, sign up here.
Who can nominate or be nominated for an Award?

Those being nominated must be a person, project or place predominantly based in Edinburgh and the surrounding areas, or be carrying out work that significantly impacts Edinburgh’s creative scene.
Can I submit a nomination for more than one category?

Yes. You may nominate a project/place/person in up to two categories, but you must complete a separate application form for each category. Please ensure that you tailor your application to each specific category, as the judging criteria are category-specific.
Can I submit different nominations in the same category?

Yes, you may nominate different people/projects/places in the same category.
How will I know that my nomination has been received?

Once you have submitted your application you will receive an email confirmation.
Can I make changes to my nomination once it has been submitted?

No. We use Typeform to collect nominations, so unfortunately applications are not editable once submitted.
Will my personal information in the nomination be confidential?

All personal information provided in the application form is strictly confidential and for contact purposes only.
How are the nominations judged?

A distinguished panel of independent creative experts from across the different artistic sectors in Edinburgh will meet to make a shortlist among all the nominations. A separate independent panel will then meet to decide the winners of each category from the shortlist. Each nomination is scored by the panel against a set of criteria in both stages of the process.
Will I receive tickets to the Awards Ceremony if I am shortlisted?

Unfortunately, we cannot provide tickets to the Awards Ceremony for those shortlisted. Plus and Premium Members are entitled to a 30% discount on tickets.
