Creative Informatics
Delivered by Creative Edinburgh, Connected Innovators is part of the wider Creative Informatics programme, and has provided an opportunity for emerging leaders in the creative industries to apply for funding for research and development or professional development around data and data-driven innovation.
Creative Informatics was a five-year-long programme that ran from 2019-2024, concluding in March 2024. Read more about the project and final reports here.
The recipients of this programme are doing incredible work in their communities by leading their own independent research projects which places data driven innovation and professional development at the heart of what they do. Whilst their projects all have the same theme around data innovation, the 27 projects supported by the funding from Creative Informatics are extremely varied, exciting and impactful projects.
In addition to delivering the Connected Innovators programme, we extended our Mentoring Programme to the recipients of the Resident Entrepreneur programme and have worked on matching our mentors with Resident Entrepreneurs over the course of the last few years.
It has been an incredible journey being part of this ambitious research and development programme. We have also identified a need to encourage the use of data in creative practices within our membership and advocate for funding to support research and development for creative practitioners.
