There's something that many of us working across Edinburgh's diverse industries already know: creativity matters. Whether you work in tech, hospitality, finance, or the arts, the city's freelance creatives (its makers, designers, writers, photographers, and artists) enrich the culture and character of everything around them.
At Creative Edinburgh, we've always believed that supporting those people isn't just a nice-to-have, it's essential.
That's why we're so excited to introduce our brand new Community Patrons scheme - a meaningful way for businesses and organisations to publicly stand alongside Edinburgh's creative community, and help make sure that support stays accessible to everyone who needs it.
What does it mean to be a Community Patron?
Lots of organisations already recognise the value that freelance creatives bring to their work, their city and their culture. However, recognising it and actively sustaining it are two different things. Becoming a Community Patron is a chance to do the latter: to go beyond goodwill and make a tangible difference.
For £250 per year (tax-deductible as a charitable donation), your business will be publicly celebrated as a champion of Edinburgh’s creative community - with your logo and link featured on our website. More importantly, your donation goes directly towards the work that keeps our community strong.
That means:
- Year-round events where freelancers can connect and grow.
- Professional development opportunities that help people build sustainable, thriving careers.
- Our Mentoring Programme, which pairs emerging creatives with experienced industry voices.
- And Scotland's only Awards Ceremony dedicated entirely to creative freelancers and small businesses.
Leaving no one behind
Creative Edinburgh is a registered charity and not-for-profit organisation. We're proud to keep our services open and free to the people who need them, but that's only possible with the support of organisations and people who believe in what we do.
Your donation as a Community Patron helps ensure that no creative freelancer is priced out of a peer network, a development opportunity, or a community that truly understands the realities of theirwork. It helps us keep advocating for freelancers' rights and pushing for policies that protect this vital, often undervalued part of our economy.
Creativity should be for everyone. Community Patronage helps us make sure it is.
Be part of Edinburgh’s creative legacy
