Creative Edinburgh receives Multi-Year Funding

3 February 2025

We’re excited to announce that Creative Edinburgh has successfully secured Multi-Year Funding from Creative Scotland for three years 2025-2028. We are extremely grateful to Creative Scotland, as this critical support will enable us to focus on what we do best as an organisation, allowing us to continue nurturing and investing in Edinburgh’s thriving creative community.

As we enter this new chapter in our charity’s development, we remain dedicated to addressing the challenges faced by freelancers and creative start-ups in our city, helping them not just survive, but thrive. We’re pleased to share that we received the full amount we applied for—this is both a relief and a testament to the recognition and support of our work by Creative Scotland.

However, while we are deeply grateful for this funding, it’s important to note that it only represents part of our total fundraising needs. The total funding of £315,000 we will receive for 2025–2028 makes up 40% of our income target. After a challenging year with several unsuccessful funding efforts, we’re hopeful that this positive shift in Scottish funding for the arts and culture sectors will have a wider impact on funding opportunities across the board.

"This is big news for our team that brings hope and boosts morale. We are taking a deep breath and starting to plan the next three years, which should be easier and more predictable given the support from Creative Scotland for which we are immensely grateful."

- Ola Wojtkiewicz, Executive Director

We also want to extend our heartfelt congratulations to the many other arts and culture organisations celebrating this funding success. It’s especially inspiring to see more grassroots organisations being recognised for their role in enriching local communities through culture. Creative Edinburgh exists to support creatives and communities across the wider Edinburgh area, and we celebrate the successes of others just as much as our own.
