We're Hiring! Graphic Designer

6 July 2026

Could you design the look of the 2026 Creative Edinburgh Awards?

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic graphic designer to join our team for the 2026 Creative Edinburgh Awards. This is a unique opportunity for an early to mid-career professional to develop an innovative body of creative work that celebrates the 2026 Awards and the Edinburgh creative community!

This year is a big one. The 2026 Awards mark our 15th anniversary - fifteen years of celebrating the talent, innovation, and impact of Edinburgh's creative industry. It's a milestone worth designing for, and we want this year's visual identity to carry that legacy through every part of the campaign.

About the Role

We're seeking a creative professional to develop the 2026 Awards visual identity and design a suite of campaign and event assets. Working closely with our Programme and Marketing teams, you'll help shape how the visuals of the Awards look and bring them to life through bold, inclusive, and accessible design.

This year marks a major milestone for the Awards as we celebrate our 15th anniversary. This moment carries real weight for Creative Edinburgh and our community, and we want the creative concept to reflect that legacy, not just acknowledging fifteen years of the Awards, but using it as a defining thread that shapes the tone, visual identity, and storytelling of the whole campaign. If you've ever wanted to help mark a milestone moment for Edinburgh's creative community, this is it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong creative concept and visual identity for the 2026 Creative Edinburgh Awards, rooted in our 15th anniversary milestone.
  • Design and deliver a flexible set of digital and print-ready assets for use across marketing, PR, social media, and the event itself.
  • Collaborate with the wider team to ensure designs are adaptable for multiple uses and platforms.
  • Document your process and reflections for Creative Edinburgh's channels.

About You

Essential:

  • A creative, early to mid-career designer with a portfolio and some experience in client work or campaign design.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work flexibly across digital and print formats.

Desirable:

  • Interest in Edinburgh's creative community and freelance culture.
  • Experience creating assets for events or cultural initiatives.

How to Apply

You can apply in one of two ways:

  • Cover Letter: One page outlining your interests, relevant experience, and initial vision
  • Video Application: A short video (max. 4 minutes) covering the same points

Please also include:

  • A sample portfolio or examples of relevant work
  • One link or attachment demonstrating your creative style

Interviews

Informal interviews will be held at CodeBase (in person or online) on Wednesday, 29 July 2026 with the Programme Manager and Marketing & Communications Lead. Please ensure you are available on this date.

Please note that we don't expect you to present a full concept in your cover letter. At this stage, we're only looking for your initial vision and a sense of your creative approach. If you're shortlisted, we'll explore your concept in greater depth during the interview phase, so please make sure you've developed your ideas enough to discuss them confidently when we meet.

We look forward to seeing your ideas and hope you'll help us make the 2026 Creative Edinburgh Awards the most vibrant yet!
